“I am multi-faceted and committed; peaceful and respectful cooperation is incredibly important to me. I am active for the Fridays-For-Future-Movement. My favorite food is French fries. ”

Ginny, what is your personal view of Europe?

For me, Europe means mainly freedom. It is an unbelievable privilege to be able to move through the entire EU without border controls. I can usually visit my friends in other European countries without any further problems or worries. You do not have to exchange money, apply for visas or be at any borders in unpleasant processes. You do not feel constricted. You feel free.

In your opinion, what does Europe mean for your home country, Germany?

Personally, I believe that Europe or the EU is a win-win situation for all Member States. Europe promotes tourism and the economy through a single currency, simplified entry for EU citizens, fewer border controls for e.g. goods loads and the abolition of customs duties for goods traded within the EU. If my country is doing well, I am usually doing well.

Is there anything else you want to say about Europe?

I think Europe is great. We should be aware of all the benefits that we already take for granted, and we should be careful not to return to nationalism and xenophobia out of frustration. The EU can and must be improved, but we Europeans must also become aware of our privileges and make an active contribution to them. We all live on the same planet and must be respectful of one another.
