Project-No.: 2018 – ZOR – 001
Experience in the social work of the ZORA start-up and counseling center shows that young women over the age of 18, even beyond their statutory adult age, urgently require further support and assistance beyond the scope of their counseling. Often these are young women who, due to their previous experience (eg massive experiences of violence and / or a mental illness), can be equated in their developmental status with a young person.
However, the young women are, due to their violent and conflict-laden biography, very limited in the ability to build and maintain relationships. However, this is a prerequisite for successful support. Against this background, considerations arose how a “tailor-made” offer for the mentioned target group could be implemented. This “gap” should be closed with the implementation of our project, the “Social Accompaniment”.
The overarching goal is to support young women in the sense of helping themselves to help themselves so that they are empowered to make their everyday lives (if possible) independently of public support services. An important aspect is the uncovering and expansion of existing resources in order to increase the self-confidence of young women. The development of critical faculties as well as the experience of binding relationships contribute to the lead on an independent life.
ZORA wants to help women between the ages of 18 and 27, regardless of whether they have a home or not. The project offers psychosocial support and assistance in everyday life as well as social training. By strengthening the personality of the young women and recognizing their boundaries and the limitations of others, a positive attitude towards each other is demonstrated.
For example, assistance in the development of a career perspective as well as the introduction of a school or vocational training, a job or another employment opportunity is one of the support options in everyday life.
A central aspect of the psychosocial offer is the development of relationships with the goal of being able to build and maintain satisfying social contacts. The implementation of “social support” always focuses on the client’s existing resources and biographical problems. Against this background, a promotion plan is created together with the client.
Help ZORA stand by the girls and take a confident step towards the future!
